OUR STORY

The Damiens Family story began in 1948 with Marcel J. Damiens and his father-in-law, Herve A. Tabary. Herve, commonly known as "Mr. Tab," founded a rice trading and exporting company. When Mr. Tab retired in 1974, he passed down the family business to his son-in-law, Marcel. Marcel expanded the business by incorporating rice packaging and commodity trading segments.

 

In 1989, Marcel relinquished company control to his children, Tab and Michelle. Building on the business skills their father taught them, Tab and Michelle led the company into a new and progressive worldwide food market. Diversified Foods Inc. is a four-generational business currently employing Damiens' children and grandchildren.

 

Established in 2008, the Marcel J. Damiens Family Foundation was created to honor the spirit of Marcel J. Damiens. Marcel's passion for helping others and giving to those in need inspired his children, Tab and Michelle, to form the Foundation to carry out his legacy through philanthropy.

 

Today, the Foundation is expanding its reach to honor the lives of Tab and Michelle's mother, Eva Margaret Damiens, and brother, Mark David Damiens. The Foundation aspires to embody the qualities displayed by Marcel, Margaret, and Mark, whose lives instilled in them kindness, generosity, compassion, integrity, discipline, and courage. These qualities guide the Foundation's giving. Through the Marcel J. Damiens Family Foundation, Marcel's generosity, Margaret's kindness, and Mark's discipline and courage will continue to impact people for years to come.

With various active projects and a large volunteer staff, we harness our skills and resources to achieve our goals successfully.
