The Captain Mark Damiens Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship dedicated to creating an opportunity to help develop and educate pilots for Southwest Airlines.  Captain Damiens was a pilot for 30 years with Southwest Airlines. Becoming a pilot fulfilled a lifelong passion for him. He was known for his unbridled passion for family, fearlessness, love of high adventure, and ability to build connections with everyone whether they were a CEO, a pilot in training, or a night security guard. Captain Damiens served as a leader at Southwest. He displayed discipline, courage, and commitment to Southwest and to his family, friends, and life in general. He embraced life to its fullest and strived to meet his challenges in unique ways.
